We gotta raise our kids while we livin'
Make a million off-a record bail my nikkaz outta prison
fukk a Bentley or a Lexus just my boys in the squadder
nikka talk reckless then I hit 'em with the Smif 'n...
But I'm never snitchin' I'm a rider
If my kids hungry snatch the dishes out ya kitchen

freeway rhyme scheme was ridiciulous.

One of the greatest rap songs of all time.

"And we gring from the bottom just to make it to the bottom" is the epitome of this street shyt. Freeway spazzed on this crazy too. Best was a monster. Damn I miss the height of the ROC era.

I could be wrong, but I dont think rappers do this purposely. Referring to multi's and rhyme schemes.

I think it just comes out that way. If you try to do that, chances are you just end up writing something wack.

This song is past my era (I was out of college when it came out :flabbynsick:), but it's still one of my favorite rap songs - at least of the 2000s, maybe ever.

This is probably in my top 3 songs that Jay-z is on (including his own); maybe my favorite one.

All the MCs were nice, but the beat is just classic. One of my favorite beats ever.

Agree with the dude who said he could listen over and over -- if I get home drunk and am not ready for bed, I'm not afraid to chill out and play a song a million times in a row -- this is one of those songs.
