Nas stole 2 songs from Organized Konfusion

chill

1) premier made gave u power with nas in D&D because guns was around and according to nas he didnt kno who organized konfusion was till after he recorded gave u power

2) pharoahe monch explains in the rap genius podcast that nas reached out to him after it was written dropped to say he wasnt a biter and hadnt heard the song

3) that other song you brought up is not real you just exxagerated an old claim

In terms of Nas – Me and Nas spoke about this a couple of years ago, a little private conversation we had – he had reached out to me and he said sometime after the song [was released] people were approaching him about similarities, and you and having similar ideas and concepts. And from his standpoint he was explaining it more of like great minds [think alike]… When I heard [“I Gave You Power” ] I didn’t feel that way about it in terms of like this dude just straight bit our shyt.

I'm a big Jay fan, but this video will ALWAYS be indicting.
It’s really not lol.

Jay quoted Biggie that was his man and also happens to be one of the greatest. There’s nothing wrong with flipping lines or interpolation hip-hop is built off it.

Jay has more than enough original lines.

Nas confirmed goat

fukk a Camp Lo don't even start that bullshyt now

Ski knew. Read below:

"That was my song! It was a song I was working on for my album at the time. It was me and Suede from Camp Lo rapping on it. I was happy about the song so I ran up in Dame’s house and Jay was there. I played it for them and they got the mad frown face, bopping they head, like, 'This is dope!'

Then Jay was like, 'You know you gotta give me that song right?' I was like, 'What do you mean? I just did this song!' He was like, 'Come on B, I need that for my album. You know we’re working on this album. Give me that beat, I want that hook too.' He took the beat, the hook, and the flow too! Which was cool, it wasn’t like he didn't ask me for it. He didn’t jack it. He told me he was going to do it."

Literally nothing to do with Sonny Cheeba or Camp Lo. It was Ski's record.

Ski recorded the OG song with just him and Geechi Suede, for his own album. THAT is the version that he played for Jay. Not anything that had Sonny Cheeba on it. Because there was no Camp Lo yet. Ski says verbatim, that he gave Jay the flows for the songs they did on RD. That's what a producer does, it's his job. Same way, you see Rick Rubin telling Jay how to flow on the "99 Problems" beat. Or how The Bomb Squad coached Cube for AMW. That's what production is, it's not just giving someone a beat.

Ski didn't even start doing tracks for Camp Lo until late '95. Dude was making music with Geechi Suede back in like '93, when they were neighbors years before he even met Sonny Cheeba. He was making records with Jay as far back as '92. So dude saying that Jay wanted "Luchini" is corny. Ski said everybody wanted that beat when they heard it! Same way, he said Camp Lo wanted beats that he gave Jay.

But the point is "Feelin' It" wasn't even a damn Camp Lo song. Haha!! It was for Ski's album and he decided to give it to Jay. Coached him on the recording, gave him the hook and everything. WTF does that have to do with Camp Lo? LOL!! Sonny Cheeba wasn't even on it!

That track wasn't even a Camp Lo joint. The other dude wasn't even around for the group yet. LOL!! The two people rhyming on the song are Ski and only one of the dudes from the group. It was a track that Ski was demoing for himself, for his own album when he was rapping. He would always play these for Jay. So if Jay heard something he liked, he would give it to Jay because they were working on RD. He's a producer, he literally said he gave him the beat, the hook and the flow too.

Ski was in charge of production on RD. He always talks about how he coached Jay on his beats and how he wrote hooks and made changes that he thought would fit the album better. Ski doesn't just give people beats. He's a producer's producer. He's told the same stories about working with Spitta, Mos Def, Camp Lo, whoever. He always speaks about how he coaches dudes and produces records from start to finish. Most of the dudes from that generation did that.

I know a lot of dudes think it's cool to discredit Jay, but if you speak to or listen to the people who actually worked with him, you get the real story. Jay recorded the majority of the references from RD at Ski's crib. They lived around the corner from each other, so they were together working on these tracks. Jay wasn't running off on his own and doing them, lol. Ski was right there with him. He said they would do the references at his crib, and also the pre-production and when Jay got the lyrics memorized, they would go to the studio and lay them again. He actually produced Jay from start to finish. It's not like now where you just send people shyt. Back then, you actually sat with the MC and worked. He said Camp Lo wanted the beat to "Politics as Usual" too. LOL!! Because of the horns.

'Yo how you gonna give that beat to Jay-Z? What about us? You always giving Jay the dope beats!'"

Jay definitely has been an innovator and pioneer, but man, he's followed a lot of trends and definitely bitten some styles as well.

I said it in another thread last month, but I'm predicting him to drop an album within the next year using the indie goon rap/New York renaissance sound. He's given lots of hints. He's taken photos for internet clout with Mach-Hommy. He's said that Price of Tea in China by Boldy James and Alchemist is his favorite album of the year, and that album is basically a modern and grittier Reasonable Doubt. He's going to Griselda concerts and marking out for joints like Overdose by Conway. He's got Benny signed to Roc Nation. Boldy James is his favorite rapper right now. Nas already did a fully produced album with Hit-Boy that went in a different sonic direction, so Jay can do an indie sounding album without anyone saying Nas did it first.

There's enough room for Jay to do it and have it seem fairly natural. I could be wrong but it's what I'm predicting.
