He's telling Stern "I'm done with that lifestyle. It's my past no longer part of my future. No worries because that's not who I am anymore." Which i'm not knocking dude for cause I'd do the same myself but the Jigga Warrior brigade defend dude like he honestly gives 2 fukks about them or the culture. Just listening to Jay and you can tell he's in it for the $$$ now and doesn't even put any effort into his craft. But you tell them that and they *'ing and - reppin you to death...at least that's my interpretation

Oh ok. I interpreted it the same only I thought the "world" he was talking about was the rap world not the hood or Black culture or anything. As in, being a rapper in this world kinda required him to handle disputes in a certain manner so that his image and popularity didn't take a hit.

And Jay has always been about the $$$. He's explicitly told us this many times since the beginning. Anybody denying that is just trying to fit Jay into a box they created for him. He's actually gotten more conscious with age, not less.

However, I don't think him being about his money precludes him from caring about the culture or the folks still struggling.

Yeah, because the Hip-Hop culture is about stabbing people.

I know this isn't The Booth, but I'll respond to your silliness. Stern asked the nikka about his pleading guilty to a stabbing, Jay tells Stern that was a product of the world he once lived in and you somehow come to a conclusion of him not caring about the culture and not putting effort into his craft? What do the culture and putting effort into his craft have to do about stabbing a nikka exactly?

maybe if Charlie Sheen was given access to a professional sports team your argument might make sense. Otherwise, again, Jay-Z actually lived that life. It's not just something he wrote on paper. LOL @ you thinking people shouldn't do business with Pacino because he played a mafia boss.

what makes you think he hasn't?:ooh:
bu bu the TV folks didn't tell me about it:smugdraper:

LOL@ you thinking that one type of entertainer should be judged differently from another.....having double standards, we off that :pachaha:

CORRECTION; Using the latest Forbes evaluation, Jay-Z’s .06% stake in the Brooklyn Nets is worth $214,000.

Y'all still falling to see how this was a low risk high reward deal for Jay. Sure he only owns a miniscule percentage (a fact well known in hip hop circles since the beginning even if we didn't know the exact number), but how are y'all just gonna ignore the rest of the article which lays out exactly why this was a great deal for him.

Why would a guy with Jay's level of money (probably around $50M back then) want to dump a huge amount on a project that was so shaky that it took 9 years and a Russian bailout to get us to today?

THIS.

:huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh:

Sounds like a win in itself.....that billboard alone probaly woulda cost jay 1mil:laff:....nikka owns a team without having to put up the money for it:laff: sounds like a scam to me lol....u could say thevy usin Jay but Jay obviously just enjoys what he doing,and is shyt any nba fan would do if we had access...wed give players pep talks for free and desgin a uniform if we had the access...how can any fool spin this as a loss for Jay?

But them uniforms is wack az fuk lol,wackest in the league by far....they wuz goin for sum raiders shyt it appears with the simple logo.....horrible execution....looks like a logo u woulda seen on that game Double Dribble off nintendo...ol 4 gigabytes azz jerseys....they'd been better off just rippin off the georgetown jerseys

Jay-Z has made out like a bandit for as small as a investment as he has. The Vault/40/40 Translation contracts and all the other stuff. That has to far exceed the 1 million he put up.
