:scusthov: at that math tho

One-fifteenth of one percent does NOT equal 0.00066666666 percent
What is it then...cause that's what I got? Unless you mean knock two zeros off or remove the percent....nevermind, guess that's the proper way to say it .0666666%

He helped design the team logos and choose the team’s stark black-and-white color scheme, and personally appealed to National Basketball Association officials to drop their objections to it (the N.B.A., according to a person with knowledge of the discussion, thought that African-American athletes did not look good on TV in black, an assertion that a league spokesman adamantly denied).

:snoop: Guarantee people in the league offices think that players wearing black makes them appear "too menacing"

:wtf:

fukk is wrong with you? The owner of the Nets was leery of working with him because of his lifestyle and criminal history. You're the one trying to draw parallels between Jay-Z and actors as if a business owner wouldn't wanna work with Denzel because he played a shady cop in a movie.

:rudy:
fukk is wrong with you? You allowing different forms of entertainment to be held against different standards. If lifestyle and criminal history was a probem, then :win: wouldn't be winning. You've been conditioned breh, start the process of reversing your conditioned mind by admitting that you're are conditioned. :jawalrus:

I believe it based on what I heard about

  • David Stern,
  • an NBA meeting
  • a picture of Vin Diesel he took out
  • and him saying this is how the future looks and what we need to appeal to.

About time somebody speak on his weak ass ownership in the Nets. nikka don't even own 1% of the team.

Now Nelly really own a stake in the Bobcats.

Yeah, Jay is that nikka but I think it's funny how these rappers and shyt try and flex their muscles and hip-hop audiences think these nikkas 'own' a team.

Jay has that tiny ass percentage. Usher owns 0.014% of the Cavs. shyt is  status in the grand scheme of things.

If I had over 500 milly I would gladly invest 100 mill in that arena. That shyt is gon make alot of money from concerts and shyt. Jay don't even own 1 percent of the team or arena. I thought he owned at least 5 percent.

Y'all still falling to see how this was a low risk high reward deal for Jay. Sure he only owns a miniscule percentage (a fact well known in hip hop circles since the beginning even if we didn't know the exact number), but how are y'all just gonna ignore the rest of the article which lays out exactly why this was a great deal for him.

Why would a guy with Jay's level of money (probably around $50M back then) want to dump a huge amount on a project that was so shaky that it took 9 years and a Russian bailout to get us to today?

What point are you driving at?

He's telling Stern "I'm done with that lifestyle. It's my past no longer part of my future. No worries because that's not who I am anymore." Which i'm not knocking dude for cause I'd do the same myself but the Jigga Warrior brigade defend dude like he honestly gives 2 fukks about them or the culture. Just listening to Jay and you can tell he's in it for the $$$ now and doesn't even put any effort into his craft. But you tell them that and they *'ing and - reppin you to death...at least that's my interpretation

maybe if Charlie Sheen was given access to a professional sports team your argument might make sense. Otherwise, again, Jay-Z actually lived that life. It's not just something he wrote on paper. LOL @ you thinking people shouldn't do business with Pacino because he played a mafia boss.
