As far as commercial singles go, this was among Jay-Z's best. It was easily the hottest song of the Summer of 2000 rivaled by maybe the Thong Song.
As a song, this is the track that introduced UGK to a lot of East Coasters and whether they want to admit it or not gave the group much needed exposure. I think the beat still rocks today, and I always tap my feet when I hear the song. That's the mark of a classic song.

This song is absolutely a "classic" by any measure one can have. It surely has stood the test of time. I don't think Hov realized how well it would be accepted when he first made the record and once he did he had to add the second verse. That verse debuted on the video & in my opinion was added to make sure peeps didn't get it twisted that it was his song (already stated) plus he realized this would be a concert staple & it would have no chance of being such w/ only one verse.
