yeah he ain't like the way jay was acting at the video shoot and found out jay was saving her for his scenes. i recommend you pick it up, it's a dope book. i was believing shyt nikkas was posting on here about pimp as fact, but nikkas is way off.Pimp smashed Gloria? I might need to read that book..
Prime Gloria was
Kinda funny how Pimp C wanted nothing to do with this record
Bun B had to push him to do it.
every time?
and Pimp C didn't shyt on Jay-Z. Jay-Z's verse is crucial. If anything, he shytted on Bun B.
Yea...no. Bun shytted on Jay, on the lyrical tip, and Pimp shytted on both on that swagger shyt. Bun and Jay have the most lyrical verses, but when you hear this song in a club/party setting everyone erupts when Pimp Cs verse comes on and raps that shyt word for word.
Stop it.
Without Jay-Z's verse, Big Pimpin wouldn't make a lick of sense. Jigga had the best lines, period. Bun B's verse is frequently skipped or cut short for a reason.
Pimp C's verse is all swagger. I'd say he's equal to Jay-Z on that song (people rap Jigga lines word for word, too). And Pimp's verse benefits from being short as fukk. If he had kept going as long as Jigga's verse while still killing it, then I'd say he outdid Jay.
First time I have ever heard this take, EVER. Jay knew what happened, which is why he had to add that last verse.
who cares what you heard? You have two ears and a brain so you can think for yourself. You can hear and read Jay-Z's verse. Thematically, it's the most on point by far.
Jay-Z haters are the only ones pumping some ridiculous narrative that Jay-Z got shytted on on his own track. It's frankly at this point.
You'd have to ask Jay-Z why he added the last verse to know the real answer. But I can tell you as someone who was more than old enough when this song debuted that Jay-Z and Pimp C were the shining elements. People were legit blown away by Jay-Z's wit, swagger and vulgarity. He knew he had a hit on his hand and probably wanted to make sure everyone knew "This is my song" which is why UGK were uncredited, plus the additional verse to bring it home.
I gave you my opinion of the song in my original post. This is the first time I've heard(read) someone have the emphatic take that you have. And what does your age have to do with anything? Do you know how old I am? Y'all love bringing up useless points in these type of debates. Read through this thread and see where most peoples opinions fall. None of them had a weak verse, and the song is damn near perfect, but if I had to rank them UGK>Jay Z. Agree to disagree.
It's not about age, it's about context. I experienced Big Pimpin in real time. That makes a big difference from dudes on here who weren't born yet or came to Big Pimpin late.
I also question that I'm the first person to tell you that Jay-Z > UGK on this record. But hey, Thanks for your input.
