Im talking more about the Hard Knock Life era where he actually blew up.

We can thank Nas for his era of irrelevancy. He never really rapped like Nas at all though,Too Short is a better comparison than the Nas one:patrice:
The conversation flow is entirely nas style. Sure he ain't the only one who does it but when it comes to NY, that was a major thing that nas brought to the game with illmatic and is definitely a huge influence on jay

Maybe, but Jay cites Short and Scarface as influences too. You have to remember that Jay is much older than Nas and probably heard those guys before Nas,plus he traveled outside of New York.

Of course, nas ain't Jay's only influence, but he was definitely a major influence on jay's flow. That's why Jay big upped nas for years in his music before they battled. You can't really downplay it especially when it's so evident

I feel like slapping people when I read this.

How can you say something so stupid?
And you would lose your hand and maybe your life

Jay 1996/Reasonable Doubt is his peak as an MC imo. You can make a case for 1998-2000 Jay.

If I heard it I wouldn't doubt it or not admit it,but I dont hear it,had Jay never heard Kool G Rap before:patrice:?

Is it possible to be a fan without actually patterning your style after someone?
