He's doing what Beyonce did basically. He's probably going to have the album as a TIDAL exclusive until July 4.

Lemonade is still a Tidal exclusive

Which weird because I thought the labels stopped all the exclusive streaming stuff. Does Beyoncé own her Masters?

And since your back posting let me ask you a question.

Why would Apple give Chance 500 thousands dollars to exclusively stream his 3rd mixtape from someone who was basically an underground artist at that point?

Chance's agent is one of the most powerful people in music and all the streaming services have exclusives with artists. It's really about how much you can convince them to pay you. Swift obviously had a two year deal with Apple because her logic never made sense.

I know Chance has a great agent but my question is what did Apple Gain with that deal?

Having a Chance project wasn't going to make more people sign up to Apple

It actually worked the other way Because it had people that were already on Apple Music trying out a Chance tape cause it was being promoted on every page of the App

There's literally no precedent for the 2016 and 2017 Chance has had as an artist. Nothing makes sense aside from he has a lot of money behind him even tho he's "independent"

We not even going into how does he get Wayne, 2 Chainz, Bieber, Kirk Franklin, Jay elect, etc all on this third mixtape

No one has exclusive deals anymore is what I'm saying.

More life was every where, Future albums were every where, Prince music is now everywhere

The only music that is exclusive are the Jay a albums that he owns the Masters to and Lemonade

Nah, a lot of projects are timed exclusives. I dont mean permanent. He got all those people on his mixtape because he fukks with them and apple gave him the money to pay for the features. Combine that with a lot of in house producing and then you have lower costs. Beyonce owns the masters to her new shyt appears. It all comes out under her Parkwood umbrella. Everything isn't about getting new users by the way. A lot of it is about retaining your userbase.

OK one more day til we :feedme:. this tidal/sprint deal wreaks of what he did last time with MCHG with samsung that insured that he automatically went platinum before the album ever came out. hov's ego is too big to release an album in a conventional sense and have to worry about actual sales.

hell, his last 3 albums had exclusivity deals. this one with tidal. MCHG with samsung, and WTT with apple.

I'm talking timed exclusives. There was an article that said labels banned them because they weren't a good deal for the labels

That's why More Life wasn't an apple timed exclusive

There is no buzz for this :mjlol: And it's dropping on the worst cell provider(sprint) and worst music streaming service(tidal) Incoming flop

Jay doesn't need buzz. People are just waiting now. The internet will be flooded with quotables by 7am tomorrow morning

They need 500 people to switch from Spotify to Apple and stay there for 10 years to make 600k. And Apple has 200 billion in cash that they don't know what to do with.

It's marketing campaigns, when I saw Drake, Future and Chance all on Apple I was close to switching. It's the whole thing combined, just seeing Drake on Apple did nothing for me or if I just saw Chance etc . But when they keep on catching projects I want, I considered taking my bucks to them. Fortunately Chance was on Soundcloud, Drake's Views was ass and Future's Evol was ass too.

Tidal has better content tho. Their curation is top notch

I don't know, I haven't used Apple since the first week and I haven't even seen Tidal.

I'm too comfortable with spotify.

I've used all 3 and that's why I can say confidently. Spotify has no real content except for their playlists and Apple relies heavily on branded radio shows and exclusive interviews. Tidal has all 3 of those channels and they do it better than their competitors.
