Finally listened to this. I appreciate that Jay-Z is no longer trying to rap about his life of 30 years ago. However, I wasn't feeling this album. I think he could have some interesting things to say about parenthood or long-term relationships but he doesn't really seem inspired here at all. The black capitalism ethos he spits is expected, but comes off as scolding and out-of-touch.

He touched on a lot of different topics on this album. I wouldn't say there was a real theme to it, though. But it was definitely mature.

I actually think that he touched on all of the topics that you wanted to hear about, long-term relationships, children, etc.

I only gave this one spin. I was really put off by him releasing it right after Prodigy died, then when I finally got around to it, the off beat flow put me off even more

At least he didn’t do anything crazy like drop a joint album with Beyoncé now that Nas finally dropped an abum after six years

I only gave this one spin. I was really put off by him releasing it right after Prodigy died, then when I finally got around to it, the off beat flow put me off even more

Nas' new album is still better that The Carters and that 444 boring shyt.

Jay hasn't released a solid project since American Gangster imo.

I think the people that hype him now are Kanye's CAC fans that never even heard Reasonable Doubt but front like he's the GOAT because he's married to Beyonce.

It's either Jay is out of touch or he has too many "Yes Men!" like Eminem telling him shyts good when it ain't

I didn't say it was bad. By Jigga's standards it's amongst his worst releases down there in the smelly end with Watch The Throne, Kingdom Come and Best of Both Worlds.

I would rather listen to Tony Yayo's Thoughts of a Predicate Felon 10x on repeat than hear 4:44 again.

Jay is like your boring uncle trying to school you on basic topics that are common sense. "Listen here young blood" type of old ass.
