I'll be real, I don't agree with the analysis of @Claudex And many others on this page at all. Because it hoes into the cliched and ridiculous point about Jay being more cautious than others and painting others as revolutionart. Your false image of people like Pac as dying as some sort of revolutionary self sacrifice is your problem in and of itself. Pac made commercial records just like everyone else. Jay talked street and personal shyt just like everyone else. His cool persona blinded you to it. I stopped a few sentences into what you were saying based on that alone. Other rappers didn't fade away because they were safe. They just failed to resonate with people for a long enough time. Basically you spent a lifetime mad at Jay for. It rapping about what you wanted him to rap about it and put your own spin on it based on what you believe the pure position is.
This niqqa can't say or do anything that's not extra
I wish Hov never had that Moment of Clarity line. Critics cling to that line like The NRA cling to their guns.
My boy died /and I did was inherit his stress/to make every jam tougher"
It's like if it's not the best shyt ever. They callin it wack. Jay not allowed to make good to great records. And even if it is great it's not because of him. It's the production. It's his connects. Lack of competition. Pretty much, It's everything but him.
Jay eliminated the Biggie lines, Guest appearances, club records. Expanded on content he has always done. Brehs have no bullets in chamber. Hov took them all. Now critics don't know what to say. But instead of enjoying the album or not listening to it. They are searching for anything to put it down.
That's my GOAT.
