this album has touched me,im at an age where I need to stay focus and be ready for all the gifts and obstacles life brings
this album is rated highly in my eyes ,it fits my current life journey

It's cool to hear Jay pull back the JayZ cloak and just be Shawn on a few tracks, gotta sit with it a time or two but off first impression I liked it

No I.D. has produced far better stuff before, the samples are too obvious and some are poorly flipped imo.
It's hard for Jay to be personal or feel "authentic" and not like a brand, so a bit of the message does feel forced but the bars are far better than MCHG. Tom Ford and some others now are just

the best thing about this album is Jay putting the focus back on bars/lyrics.. I hope these mumble rap nikkas are taking notes...
no gimmicks just real music so i respect it
but ill b honest while i f wit a lot of the production inn this ..especially the samples .. i can't believe I'm saying this but i actually felt like NO ID was going to bring a lil more and a lil more bounce to the soundscape.. especially for a mc like Jay who can float over that type of production
i don't mind this bein a lil stripped down, and focusing more on the soulful side of things as it emphasises the focus on jays lyrics x delivery etc which is good
but in comparison to ' summer time' by vince staples which featured a lot of production for NO ID..I'm actually a lil ( not much ) but some what surprised he didn't delivered more production wise
( especially as i kant help but feel ..havin NO ID produce this whole shxt is another shot at kanye )

This is better than MCHG. The subject matter is about his current life and not some made up BS. There isn't anything mind blowing on here, but it is better than what I was expecting. He calls out Apple/Iovine and makes it clear he's no longer going to be an artist looking for a check. He talks about the issues with Beyonce and so forth.
