I don't believe you. You wouldn't have mentioned others praise first. You would have said, "Kendrick is 10 times better than Jay as an artist. The way Kendrick plays with [insert music term], and how he forms the melody blah blah blah". I might have found it pretentious, but at least I would say " tehparadox bout the music."

But you can redeem yourself. What tracks are the standout on To Pimp? I haven't heard the album in full and I'd like to give it a deep listening. Which stand out as supreme quality since you can recognize it when you hear it? No troll. Serious question.

jay is a great lyricist though, but it would take him 200 years to make something as outstanding (musically) as TPAB

This album also influenced legends like prince, david bowie, etc... jay can only dream of doing that and being a great lyricist is just not enough for making great music.
