Jay electronica's pen game is hands down better than Kendrick's. Not many rappers can go toe to toe with him on a track. Jay, Nas, and possibly Lupe.

However, Kendrick, thus far, has been the better artist. Almost by default really. K.Dot actually releases albums and thus far they've all been critical successes.

I am not talking about the game I am talking about the top spot in the genre. Jay has been signed to Roc Nation since before J.Cole and has yet to put out even a mixtape. So his bitter tirade of insults to some of the games top emcee's seems a bit off balanced considering that for the last 7 years all of those artist have hustled harder, put out more music, and striven to achieve greatness. Where ass Jay puts out a single every 2 years and disappears from the lime light after promising his long awaited album. So either he is being black balled, which I can't see because he has Jay Z publicly backing him with praise and doing collabos as well. Or he is full of shyt. All I am saying is if the brother is tired of these "corny" artist getting shine then he should set an example of what real artistry sounds like. Nobody cares about 10 year old mixtapes. The nikka has obviously has no drive, and because of that the game left his ass behind years ago. Its to the point that if dropped his LP nobody would give 2 shyts because he is back to WTF is a Jay Electronica status at this point in his career.

As I go through this thread I'm dapping up posts about Jay Electronica I would of never dapped ages ago.

Let's face it, this dude isnt' a has been...he's a never was.

Never dropped an album.
releases a song or two every year...
Only put out 4 mixtapes and the last one came out in 2008.
Talks about the mythical "Act II: Patents of Nobility" like it's the dead sea scrolls, when in all reality it could very well not even exist or be absolute trash.

This dude has been the biggest disappointment in rap...EVER.

Which is sad, cause he could of been one of the greats but now has just taken comfort in doing stuff like this which further brings him down several pegs.

In this game your only as good as your last hit. And as far as "hits" go Jay E has yet to make that list. A nikka on the back on the bus because he hasn't afforded the opportunity to ride the front of the bus has no right to diss a nikka in the front of the bus when the one riding front put in the time and effort to sit there.

As an artist Jay is better, but as far as hustle, dedication, and work ethic Kendrick deserves his spot.

He's really not my dude. Jay is a fukking beast. The knowledge he puts into his music is often to deep for many to grasp, but its not so coded that listeners have to wonder wtf he is talking about. I am a major Kendrick fan, but he is not on JE's level at all.
