I can cap, after listening for the past few days, Jay electronica’s debut might be the most disappointing debut album since Canibus.

People forget the hype around that first Canibus album because Wyclef gave him a dud but the hype around it was unreal. Canibus was trashing every guest appearance, every freestyle, he trashed LL & then dropped some bullshyt.

That’s not even saying it’s bad because I think it's a solid project. Still, we waited 12 YEARS to watch him get outshined by a 50 year old Hov who spent Jay's debut defying the laws of rap gravity showing he still has it by spitting triple entendres. I just expected more.....

This Jay Electronica album needed Just Blaze. Like none of the songs on this album are as good as Exhibit A, Exhibit C, Dear Moleskin or Better In Tune With The Infinite.

Powerful posting. Exactly how I feel about the situation.

Yeah iv listened a few times now...Iv got no hate for Jay elect, I anticipated Act 2 just as much for just as long as all of you, but this ain’t it for me..

1. Mixed horribly

2. Jay Z on every track takes a lot away from Jay elect on his “debut”

3. Technically only 9 tracks, and a couple of those are barely 2 mins long

4. And to add on to the last point, a few of those beats are awful

5. fukk Travis Scott

Jay Z clearly still a goat, and Jay elect clearly still one of the nicest Mc’s out there, but I’m good on this, y’all enjoy tho

It's his debut album and he didn't even spit the opening verse on the album. What kind of shyt is that?

Rap is a competitive sport. If you're THAT BUL, we need you to stand toe to toe on YOUR album.....especially against a guy who's main focus isn't rap anymore after being in the game 20 years.

It would have been nice to hear some bars over the last part of Flux Capacitor
:francis:
it would been nice if the scientist was on there instead of that trash ass song with arguably the worst hook in the last 5 years. annoying ass beat too.

I love the album but I’m hoping that the next one will be only produced by Jay, Just Blaze and maybe Madlib and that’s it ... hip hop needs it.

Why is it mixed so terribly?

Feels like these songs are all old.

Other than that I like it.
"We Made It" would've been nice on there too
