Impression I got is he just got naturally busy and they drifted apart. I dont even think they were boys like that despite what the media made them as in the late 90s/early 00s. I think he closer with Moiser and Mewes. I think it was a brief bromance like how he and Seth Rogen were in the late 00s
That said yeah I mean Garner did work with Smith on that one movie in 06-07 so maybe she wasnt feeling him
