Giannis doesn't have a D.Green on his team.

The point is that with Giannis, Bledsoe, Middleton, Brogdon, Henson, Snell, Delly, etc they have defensive personnel and should be way better on that side of the floor.

Giannis should be leading the way as a Draymond/Horford type of safety/Swiss Army knife on defense. He can do it, he is averaging over/near 1.5 steals and blocks per game. It’s about how he is used/positioned in their schemes and with Kidd he was not used to his full potential.

besides Freak, Bled, Midd, and Brog, the rest of those guys cant be trusted. Snell and Maker have been wildly disappointing and you can say Delly has been too since he was a better player his last two seasons leading up to this one.

the only thing you can say is, he probably couldve gotten more time, but you cant justify it. his team was horrible defensively in spite of having capable defenders. ultimately that is what lost him his job.

the other thing is, Kidd said a lot of things in interviews that just went over the wrong way. he really just put his foot in his mouth too many times. he blamed their losing on them being young when Boston and Philly are even younger. and what was probably the beginning of his ending was his explanation of telling Middleton to miss the FT. that was like just fukking idiotic.

Jackson is the biggest name and I think he would be the best guy to go for. Jackson is demonstrative and savvy and he can get the most out of his players I believe because he is able to get his point across better. The problem is, they say he is too preachy. He is the name they need and he has the coaching talent to do some good things. I have no doubt that Fiz can get this team in the right direction and scrapping in the playoffs but I dont know how much farther Fiz can take a team.

Tony Bennett will get some serious consideration but style of play may hurt his chances.

Unrealistic? They have the talent to play defense, yet because of the scheme Kidd uses they are 25th in the league defensively. Outside of the C spot they have + defenders at 4 of their 5 starting spots, but Kidd used an over aggressive defense that basically over helped on any roll to the rim and led to an insane amount of threes for the opposing team. They have been one of the worst teams defending the three the last couple years.

This isn't the Cavs that can't play defense cause they're old, this is a capable team being held back by a coach with a dated defensive scheme that is too stupid to change it.
