That era of BJW was so good, a ton of great tag death matches with actual stories, the straight ahead stiff matches, the random six man tags The big singles death matches were fukking brutal too. Shows had an awesome mix of stuff, always something entertaining and interesting coming up. Been a long time since I checked in though.

Hven't seen deathmatches in years but Strong BJ is still delivering the goods. Injuries have caused them not to have legit MOTYCs like before but there's still tons of really fun tag matches

There was a report from Japan from the owner of a wrestling store saying that Mistico was in terrible pain the entire Japanese tour, and at the 1/18 Korakuen Hall show (the second to last show), he was in tears backstage. The wrestlers from New Japan told him he needed to go to the hospital, but his seniors in CMLL told him he would be okay if he just drank heavily (that is something of a Mexican protocol in some circles).

When NJPW workers want you to go to hospital you know it's bad. And at advising him to drink heavily.

Meltzer on Itami

Main event was another tournament match with Hideo Itami pinning Breeze in 10:54. Itami doesn’t connect at all with the crowd, past they react if he does a good move. You can’t help but see the change in Itami’s look in a drug tested environment. The crowd did react when he’d kick Breeze hard, but he’s not coming off like a star. After a lot of near falls, Itami won with the Busaiku knee in a decent match.

Go home where you can roid and maybe even get in fights with Ishii and team with Shibata again, they don't love you over there
