My (and others) point is that Dave has always liked more athletic and "big moves" matches. In the 80's he gravitated to those as well. All Japan was so heavily praised in the 90's because of that (even though a lot of those matches have a heavy dose of storytelling, the main focus was big moves, strikes and nearfalls). Same reason why he praised more the New Japan Jrs in the 90's instead of the heavyweights, even though the heavys were having classics during that time too.

I repeat, there's nothing wrong with that and I honestly don't give a single fukk about what Meltzer likes. I'm just pointing out that it's not a thing about getting to a certain age or changing what you like. In the case of Dave is the opposite, he's always liked the same type of stuff :yeshrug:

I'm legit worried about Kobashi throwing a chop and then standing there waiting for that bird to throw a strike of it's own :picard:

I’m so glad Kobashi is healthy. Dude beat cancer, and I didn’t know this, but he’s 54 now, and just had his first baby a few years ago.

Good for him. He and Misawa were always my favorite Japanese wrestlers, and I’m glad it seems like Kobashi kind of got a happy ending.

Half the roster gets COVID a year+ into the pandemic after being able to avoid it all this time
Commissioned a new belt no one seemed to like
Cut Ibushi's title run hella short to put it the new top gaijin they were going to build around for much of the year only for him to get injured in his first defense, out indefinitely
