You know Naito has to be like @ them unifying the belts. His heel turn as well as his redemption arc and Ibushi's rise to the main event scene were built through the IC title.

I guess it's clear now that Tanahashi winning the NEVER belt is not him moving down the card but an attempt to uplift the status of the NEVER belt.

Yeah, after establishing the "two belts, two main events for two big shows each tour" formula that has worked very well for them, it's hard imagining New Japan changing that recipe when it's not warranted. So one would guess the NEVER title is gonna get some very important runs so it get established as a title that can main event a mid sized building.

At least Shingo is doing alright. It's sad to see CIMA and STRONGHEARTS listed in some third rate promotions' results I don't know if they would've fared better in AEW without the pandemic. We never got to see the Chinese monks either.
