Yuji Okabayashi vs Kazumi Kikuta - BJW n°1 Contender match 09/14/20

Kikuta has been a trolling pest in Okabayashi's side for months now so Yuji finally gets his revenge here. It's an 8 minute match of these two striking each other full force, so at the end of the day is pretty obvious who comes out on top :pachaha: it's always fun seeing Yuji unleashing full force against his opponent and Kikuta has become a solid worker that can stand of his own and did the most out of this chance/mini feud.

Astronauts vs Shinjiro Ohtani & Yuya Aoki - Saikyou Tag League 1st round 09/14/20

:banderas: best tag team in the world brehs. A lot to unpack here. First, Aoki has become kind of a protege for Ohtani ever since he was sent to Zero1 for like a year+ of tours and tournaments, so they enter the tournament with the kid wanting to show the legend he can hang. On the other side you have Nomura and Abe having even MORE confidence than usual now that they have the tag belts with them. The disrespect from Abe to Ohtani was fukking hilarious, and so were Ohtani's comebacks on dude :mjlol:

The main story though is Aoki getting isolated and bullied but wanting to show Ohtani he can do it. There's some good drama and the match is basically 14 minutes of stiff strikes and slaps...and we know Young Gawd is an expert on that front

Match was a fukking blast to watch. I know it's G-1 season but you ain't gonna regret spending 14 minutes on this one brehs @Scottie Drippin @SubZeroDegrees @TheGodling @The Rainmaker @Legal

Anybody who’s serious about the actual art of wrestling needs to go to NJPW. America in general just doesn’t get that aspect of wrestling

Japan period is a must if you want to be a well equipped wrestler. There's something about the dojos that turns boys to men. Hell, Hogan went from a entertainer to a friggin grappler in the midst of a few tours:wow:

Because they teach actual grappling over there instead of a bunch of flips or whatever. If you get the concept of how something works for real it makes it a lot easier to translate into play fighting imo. Obviously not all the time but all of the guys in njpw that I like have a background in some form of combat. Hell even in the USA look at a guy like Angle, Brock, Ron Darousey, Bazzler, Riddle etc....especially if you get the character part down pact :whoo: you get a guy like Nakamura.

Exactly. For instance, my favorite wrestler of all time is always going to be Hayabusa because he actually is the epitome of a well rounded wrestler:

  • He's a high flyer
  • He can grapple with the best of them
  • Can do death matches
  • Knows wrestling psychology
Nothing more nothing less and honestly there will never be another wrestler that will fit the mold of his aura. You can do all the flippy shyt and hoss shyt all you want, but if there's no soul behind it...you just doing moves to just get your shyt in.

My Puro Brehs, what a couple of months it's been for your resident Meltzer/Misawa/Niche porn expert. My mum had to go for some surgery a while and it looked like it had gone pretty well. Then a couple of days after the op she got an infection (non Corona :whoa:), she had to put into an induced coma and put on a ventilator :damn: I went to see her, she looked :dead: She was selling like the gawd Misawa, pretty stoic but... unconscious :heh:. It took damn near a week before she started her comeback, shyt was like a Baba booking special, she was milking that sympathy I'll tell y'all that. Anyway she very slowly came out of it and she was able go home. She wrapped up the win pretty quick too, used a non indy Burning Hammer. So I'm just now getting back to the Puro, heading to the G1 thread now. Hope everyone is doing well, keeping safe in these strange and uncertain times. Had a fukkload of Observer content to catch up on too :wow:
