Yuya Aoki vs El Lindaman - BJW 2/24/20 Jr Title match

A fun back and forth match, there's 1 botch that's kinda distracting but I liked how they kept building up the action and the crowd began to believe Linda was gonna get the W :ehh:

Daichi Hashimoto vs Takuya Nomura - BJW 2/24/20 Strong Heavyweight Title match

:banderas: very close to the great match they had in 18' at the Strong Climb tournament. Young Gawd is fukking outstanding in this, dude knows how to wrestle with a sense of urgency and dishes punishment in a way that his opponent HAS to level up and dish back at him, which leads to awesome sequences and good strike exchanges. Loved the way he kept one upping Daichi every time, either with a vicious slap (you gonna live this @SubZeroDegrees) or a stiff kick aimed at Hashimoto's arm. Daichi selling was great once again, at least until the final few minutes were they both went into "your turn my turn" mode.

The only complaint I have about this match is that Daichi doesn't have the offense to lead a finishing sequence, he has stuff that can work when he's the underdog but as the main champ he comes up short in this front, specially because he tends to get dominated for a good portion of the match so he needs some sort of equalizer, and a weak DDT and a bunch of shining wizards are not it. Considering 2020 has been a big for him and he has been way more consistent than in other years, if he's able to find something that makes him feel more like a champ and less like a "young, promising star", he's gonna take the final leap as a performer, imo.

What did you think @Ace of the Metropolitan saw you posted you watched this show?

I've been doing a rewatch of the 2016 G-1. It's wild how things changed.

Naito getting washed by Nagata was :dwillhuh:....:leon:....:mjlol:

The whole crowd being kinda :ehh: about Naito before we reached 2018/2019's "ALL HAIL LORD NAITO, THE REASON THE SUN RISES AND SETS :blessed:" fever pitch

EVIL wasn't popping like he is now either.

Pre 'Best Bout Machine' Kenny with the broom. This has to have been post AJ, but there's not much Bullet Club about him.

Completely forgot that Marafuji was in this too.

Done :wow: :sadcam:

edit: I have no clue how this works, the whole thing says "it's not published" yet and it only shows the options of payment, but I don't get were to actually do the donation :damn: :francis:

This shyt is worse than BJW Core and that's saying something.
It says you can't donate until it's actually published. That's why it's still at 0% lol.

We at 62% :damn: Had to give BJW's office as an address to make shyt work :dead:

If this is only for May, I don't see how they stay open though. If they get to the goal (which seems likely), they are not gonna get there in June or July.

Contraction in puro is not a bad thing but I don't want the best division in wrestling to break up :to: :mjcry: :damn: If a company takes them all, then everything gucci in my book.

Ironically enough, since we're talking about the possibility of BJW folding (I've always thought that BJW, AJPW, and possibly Zero1 should just bite the bullet and merge, but not like this), I've been doing a deep dive on some All Japan Women's stuff, with JWP and LLPW on the side.

Some great stuff, some stuff where you question if the wrestlers are even trained, but I can't wait until I get to the point where the entire Joshi scene nearly dies. Seems pretty apt for the times.

The craziest shyt about joshi in the 80s/early 90s is 1. all the moves they innovated 2. How fukking brutal they were with each other. There's like....no sense of safety at all in classic joshi.

When you watch a Hokuto/Kandori match in which Hokuto's tombstoned so hard she leaves a dent in the announce table...and that's not even, like, the 10th least safe thing you've seen in the last week, you know you're dealing with some real joshi madness.

These girls can't even give or receive a back suplex without it looking like death half the time.

This did lead me to my new favorite (re)discovery in wrestling though:
