Takuya Nomura, Fuminori Abe (Astronauts) & Yasufumi Nakanoue vs Kohei Sato, Ryuichi Kawakami & Kazumi Kikuta - BJW 1/2/2020
Video starts around the 21 minute mark.
A fun 6 man tag from the Strong Division to start the year in Korakuen, a tradition unlike any other
only 1 minute of this is clipped so not a lot is lost. Sato and Abe have so much chemistry I want a rematch from the brutal match they had last year. Abe might just be the most fun wrestler alive right, dude just makes everything work and fun to watch. Nakanoue and Kawakami beat the shyt out of each other and the final pairing of Kikuta and Young Gawd had probably the best exchange they've had against each other. A very fun 10 minutes to start the year
Daichi Hashimoto vs Yuji Okabayashi - BJW 1/2/2020
starts at the 1hr04min from the link above
Yuji continues to be Daichi's best opponent, I don't think this was the best match they've had against each other but this was a pretty damn good anyway. It's basically 16 minutes of Hashimoto trying to show he can go toe to toe against Okabayashi and of course, failing at it because Yuji is a fukking beast (who was particularly pissed off this night, I guess the L against Hino the night before had my breh upset). So we basically get a ton of strkes and some big moves. The main problem with this match is you want Okabayashi to win, but Daichi doesn't really have the fire power, the heel tactics/fukkery nor the presence to make it feel like Yuji has to overcome much. And this wasn't worked to make Daichi the big underdog either - which was the formula that has made their previous two matches stand out -, so this kinda lacks the "weight" a title match should have imo.
You can tell Korakuen wasn't rocking with Daichi. Which makes sense considering his title win came out of nowhere when dude had ZERO momentum. I hope they give the belt to Nomura in February but all seems to point to him keeping the strap until after the Strong Climb.
