That's pretty much exactly how I saw it. Tana and Naito are the genius part, Ibushi/Okada/Kenny are the athletic.

His main point was that Miyahara never does anything too spectacular (as in extreme high spots/bumping or even super stiff offense) but all his matches are excellent. He compared him very favorably with Flair and Dave loves Flair so he certainly thinks he's a great worker.

As an aside a mailbag question asked Dave who had the worst match with Flair and Warrior came up. Flair told Dave that he tried to have a good match with him but couldn't. The image of Ric on a big brick phone telling Dave how much Warrior sucked :heh:

Who had the worst match with our hero Misawa :lupe: Or Kawada/Kobashi. Hash has a fair few iffy matches in fairness just down to various political strife. Tenryu too.
Okada would go under genius imo he doesnt do anything out of the ordinary athletically

It's hard to think Warrior/Flair would be any different than like...Hawk vs Flair matches, but 1992 Warrior was pretty garbage. That rematch with Macho at Summerslam was fukking terrible. I hadn't even considered a Flair/Warrior program, could have had some :mjlol:promos.

Okada has a hell of a vertical leap that's all I know. I wouldn't call him too smart ring wise, Dave probably would. Tana is a cripple but still pulls out great matches with his layouts.

I think Warrior injured him too (shocking). Hurt his ear I think and it bothered Flair for a while.

There was a Steiner match that was pretty poor. I really disliked his rematch with Fujinami. Dave brought up JYD too.

The Bret one was rough, I forgot that. Never watched the Albright one. Kawada had a very good effort with him.

I THINK it's because Miyahara isn't fancy and not as stiff etc. He can do his matches hundreds of times a year (says Dave) while Kenny and Ibushi would die if they did their matches super regularly. Something like that anyway. He's still :whoa: when comparing him with the NJPW/Elite fellas though :heh:

He's full of shyt breh, that makes no sense :heh: and I know he watches a lot of Kento matches so he's just making shyt up.

You don't think he's safer/less stiff than the others? I don't watch a lot of Miyahara matches so I don't really know. He seems pretty unfancy to me when I see him. Ibushi/Naito definitely couldn't do their matches too often (though I would like them too:heh:). The Flair comparison just comes from thinking Miyahara could do his matches on the circuit (again, I don't really know). Just reporting on the radio discussion breh :manny:

EDIT: Though people on the board are more into Shingo at the minute, that NJPW :wow:

I know what you are reporting, I'm just telling you he's full of shyt :pachaha:

He's not safer than any other puro "Ace" out there. He gets thrown on his head and gets rocked with stiff shots all the time. He works with guys like Zeus and Shuji Ishikawa, it's impossible to work "safe" with dudes like those (specially Shuji). He's often the guys on the receiving end of dangerous shyt, but that's not him working safe, that's not how that shyt worrks :heh:

Ibushi/Naito is an impossible comparison, not sure why that's being thrown out there. That's like me saying "well Ibushi and Naito aren't risking their life by blood loss like Jun Kasai every time he does a big match , they aren't the most dangerous guys out there :sas1:" And by the way, THEY ARE working too often against each other :pachaha:

I'm not even sure what "working his matches on the circuit" means. The New Japan guys work those matches all the time. And Kento is just as careful and lazy as them when he's not in a high profile match.

So I need to watch him more :leon: I thought he was quite lumbering, no head drops. Dave said he was stiff, just not dangerous. Dave (and Bryan to a lesser extent) have a real hang up currently when it comes to ''danger,'' particularly Naito/Ibushi.

And HEY, Ibushi/Naito can never face each other too much:ufdup:

The circuit was my joke, not from the radio, North Eastern/Carolinas circuit. Just amused me to apply it to Japan. Dave just said he could do his same match all the time, didn't mention the Japanese circuit :heh:

Dave's opinion and/or reporting on modern Japanese wrestling is a complete waste of time. Really, it's always been a waste of time as he never had sources and didn't understand the cultural differences in business and kayfabe shyt between American and Japanese carny folk. He still believes kayfabe magazine shyt because his only sources were gaijin that no longer work for New Japan and were blowing smoke to get their own profiles higher.

Dave broke the story of the Inoki/Baba split. He was also present when Rikidozan got the piss knife. He laid out the Misawa/Jumbo finish. YOU, internet poster Stro, don't know what you're talking about.
