If you mean the matchups, sometime after the participants are announced, in mid June.

It just really dawned on me how much NJPW is actually stateside.

The first night of this year's G1 will actually take place in another country. I almost feel like the Japanese fans are getting fukked.

Eh, they are getting two Tokyo Dome shows. Though we have to wait for those cards to evaluate if they are getting fukked or not :pachaha:

One night is Juniors and Liger's retirement match.
Next day is the heavyweights and the main event title match.

Everybody wins.

I hope they give Liger the main event of one of those shows but a whole event of just juniors in the Dome is a recipe for disaster :whoa:

I don't know about the first night being just Juniors. They don't have enough that they build seriously to pull something like that at the Dome. I feel like first night should have the IC Title and the Liger match as the last two matches. Maybe work in a couple of matches that are tributes to his biggest matches and moments. Night two brings the bigger profile matches and the IWGP title.

The most celebrated Junior Heavyweight in New Japan Pro Wrestling having a retirement match is totally the main event of Night One.

JTL Retirement Match/Farewell
IWGP Jr. Title
IWGP Jr. Tag Title
If the NEVER Openweight or Six Man can have appropriate champs for a match, they'll be booked into that.

It's the last night for a veteran and staple of the Junior Heavyweight Division. They're going to give an amazing performance.

It should have a ton of intepromotional matches too, if the idea is to pay tribute to Liger da gawd.

But my point is that you are not getting more than 10-13k papered people for a show of just juniors. Liger's retirement needs to be promoted as a special event like All Star Battle but with more focus on New Japan, obviously.

There's been like a year long story of Ospreay going to heavyweight, he's been bulking, got the openweight title, seemed like he was ready to get the official bump up to heavyweight...and they took the Openweight belt off of him just to put him right back in junior matches? :mjlol:
