Daisuke Sekimoto vs Yuji Hino - Zero1 World Heavyweight Title, Z1 2/2/19

HOLY shyt :whoo: :damn: I did not expect these two to have this type of match. They actually went for a minimalistic approach to this and it worked like a fukking charm. It's kind of a hoss version of what Sekimoto and Hideki Suzuki have been doing in the last 2 years in their matches. Every move and strike matters, there's struggle for control on almost every exchange and both pay the price of landing or receiving a hit. 5 years ago these two would've had a slow start that just fills time until they go full speed ahead and just clash against each other until the end. 2019 version of them? They actually build to every sequence. They get to the strike battle - the lariat exchanges were SICK, dear lord :picard: - and they get to throw a lot of bombs, but how they get there and how they make every single thing they do matter, shows how two wrestlers that were already awesome, can learn new ways to have a great match. And even the bombs were done in a pace and in a way that showed the wear and tear of the match, fukking loved it (Hino's deadlift german was something else).

At one point Daisuke has Hino in a Boston Crab and Yuji starts powering up´to get to the ropes, but it's not your typical spot were the wrestler just gets there because has has to, Hino fukking DRAGS Sekimoto - you can see him leaning forwards, trying to stop Yuji - until he gets the rope break. If you just want to watch a bomb fest, this will probably underwhelm you - because it takes 22-25 minutes or so to get there - but if you have patience, this will be rewarding. I was actually fine with the ending, which just blew my mind.

My man Daisuke with another MOTYC :ohlawd: @TheGodling @Scottie Drippin @SubZeroDegrees @3Rivers @PlayerNinety_Nine @TrueEpic08 @Honga Ciganesta @Beautiful Bobby Eatin @The Rainmaker @Legal @stro

The match:

Good looks, breh. Will watch ASAP.

I was just watching a Sekimoto/Miyahara vs Hino/Sato tag from 5 years back the other day. Gotta catch this one when I get home.

Just got done watching. :whoo:

Piff. It did start a a bit slow, but as mentionedz everything felt like it had purpose.

The deadlift German nuts. You could tell it was a deadlift, but it looked effortless as fukk.

The stretch from when Daisuke hit that powerbomb on was crazy. shyt got me looking into another Japanese streaming service in addition to NJPW World. I was thinking DDT Universe, but if BJPW is Daisuke's home promotion, I might have to fukk with that.

Only thing that sucks is that my usual watch partner is my girl, and she struggles with shyt with no English commentary/subtitles, like that shyt matters. :why:

I actually quite like the current Triple Crown but when Kento came out with the OGs :banderas:

Hopefully Tana/Kento happens in the next 2 years before Tanahashi's body completely gives out on him and he can still have a 5 star classic.

Did the booker mode for Fire Pro World ever come out on PC? Last I checked it was supposed to come out when the PS4 version was released, then in October, then it got pushed back in definitely and still wasn't released as of last month.

The main event for New Japan's anniversary show is Jay White vs Will Ospray :dwillhuh:

That show historically has had special attraction matches as the main event but two gaijin? is this a first? :wtf:

Daisuke Sekimoto vs The Bodyguard - BJW 2/23/18. Zero1 & Strong Heavyweight title match

This was more about clashing against each other and show who is more powerful. Because of that, I think it was a little longer than it should've been BUT, it's Sekimoto and BODYGAAH so if you are gonna have two dudes trying to "out macho" the other one, it's a perfect pairing. I'm too tired to write a more in depth review. On first watch this was well worth the watch, a better crowd would've elevated though as it felt more like a really good tournament match than an interpromotional title match :ehh: :ehh: :ehh:

This match...:wow:

I'm not putting it on the level of the other classic Sekimoto has put out this year, but it's up there. The man took all of one match to get me interested in him, and the shyt I've seen from him since has only gotten better. Those lariat exchanges were truly sick beyond belief, and Sekimoto's selling is godlike. Dude gets chopped on his back and he sprawls across the ring like :damn: and you fukking feel it in your spine.
