That's such a crazy match, even today that'd be a :whoo:

There's some real fukking violence in the Baba/Fritz matches over the years. The psychology of hatred :mjcry:

These mother fukkers attempted literally homicide on Terry after a match he wasn't even in. Not only did he have the crimson mask, he was also turning purple because the Shiek had a god damn GARROTE that was as tight as it could go :picard::picard:

Can someone explain the Blue Justice shows to me? It's a co-production between NJPW & Nagata? What's the theme/history behind those shows?

Was the main event to Blue Justice VIII/Road to Destruction a nostalgia match or something? I haven't seen Kojima's side compete much in NJPW recently. I know those guys were bigger names in the late '90s/early '00s.

RWTL 77 finals are the Funks getting their revenge on Abby and Sheik, and a good 10 minutes of the match is Terry's arm getting carved up, but late in the match Dory does a punch that sends Sheik's object in the air, he catches it, and all these dudes in suits in the first few rows jump up screaming for him to use it, and a row or two behind them are grown men cringing and hiding their eyes from the violence :mjlol:

Of course it's a bullshyt finish, even in the finals, but the pull apart brawl after the match has Terry stabbing Sheik like 70 times in a row rapid fire with probably the pencil, and at one point Dory....does an ARM DRAG to one of the young boys :dead:

The first time I saw that Abby/Sheik vs God and Dory I was  that it had fukking nearfalls - in the context of being 1977 - that shyt blew my mind almost as much as Sheik stabbing God like it was a slasher film :picard:

Yes, it's a co-promoted show. It's a common practice in puro, Couldn't tell you who was the first one to do it but in the last 10 years it's been done in pretty much every promotion. Normally it's a big name that wants to book his own show, it very rarely has big stakes and it's more of an appreciation type of event. My guess is that it's a nice side hustle for the wrestler producing it to get a good payday.

The main event was a standard comeback match in a small show, Kojima was out for a while with an injury.

:laff:That fukking carny

I'm almost expecting him to do the announcement in Korakuen Hall, charge for tickets and end the press conference with a "I'm officially retired...for now ". And the whole thing would end with a wild brawl against somebody, that would eventually lead to nowhere because Onita will return on a random date against a different wrestler :mjlol:
