aye @The Rainmaker you seen the CIMA news? Apparently he's been offering a bunch of money to go stay in Shangai and train people for OWE. To the point that the rumor is he's leaving Dragon Gate for good. Even Jae wouldn't commit to fully debunk the rumor :lupe: :lupe:

Hope it isn't true. CIMA IS Dragon Gate. Who else is gonna make those long ass end show promos?

The Meltz:

Katsuya Kitamura, 32, the 2017 Wrestling Observer Rookie of the Year and a wrestler considered the Japanese version of Brock Lesnar, may no longer be with the company.

Kitamura has been out of action for five weeks. His last match was on 3/4 in Tsukuba, teaming with Manabu Nakanishi, losing to Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano. He apparently suffered a concussion in that match and hasn’t wrestled since.

There are reports that he’s out of action with a concussion and his career is over. Those within the company have said that the concussion is a cover reason and it was another as yet undisclosed reason why he is not expected back.

There could probably only be a handful of things they'd get rid of him for and cover it up: Drugs, something sexual, or some kind of crime

Strong Climb semis...

Hideki Suzuki vs Yasufumi Nakanoe - Big Japan 4/14/18

Hideki Suzuki vs. Yasufumi Nakanoue (BJW - Ikkitousen Strong Climb 2018 - Day 7)

Having Suzuki's opponent work on top for once was refreshing, and Nakanoue did a good job punishing Hideki's neck - I loved how Nak baited Suzuki to gain control too - but idk, I felt something was missing in this and I can't put my finger on it. The early mat work was kinda boring, 5 minutes of very bland action to establish something we already knew (Hideki is good at that shyt), once Nakanoue gains control it gets interesting but I thought it never picked up. Maybe someone else would like this more than me, I thought it was OK.

Daisuke Sekimoto vs Daichi Hashimoto - Big Japan 4/14/18

Basically "Daichi tries to survive Daisuke's bullying techniques". Fun match, some very good striking - it's been a while since I saw Sekimoto unleash his hard chops - and good selling by baby Hash, if this was in Korakuen or even Shinjuku FACE it might've felt more dramatic, the crowd was fine but never gave this the atmosphere it needed. Still good though, just not MOTYC level.

SPOILER FOR TOURNAMENT FINAL
Daichi put the belt on the line against Suzuki for the Final.....and lost :pachaha:

His run was too short and he was never given any big opponent to draw anything worth a damn, he basically did as poorly as Suzuki did on the second half of his reign last year (when he too stopped working "big" names) but I thought he did good enough as champ in the ring, he made a little leap performance wise and that's a good thing. Hopefully he keeps growing and doesn't go into a funk because he doesn't have the belt no more.

Daisuke will be Hideki's first challenger and I actually think he might win...

That's some Russo shyt if I've ever seen it. Build up a match by pointing out how poorly it's drawing.

Daichi Hashimoto vs Hideki Suzuki - Strong Climb Tournament Final 4/15/18
https://vk.com/video289484704_456244903

80% of this is Hideki torturing Daichi by working the head/neck with vicious headlocks and holds, at some point it was looking like baby Hash was going to get squashed just like he did in his first title challenge last year (against Suzuki) but he was able to comeback a little bit - very nice STF spot tbh - this built VERY slowly, the first 5 minutes were a little bit more interesting than in Suzuki/Nakanoue and then Hideki took over and began to put in work. Final few minutes didn't have that much drama as the match ended right when it was getting interesting so to speak. I liked the match, but I might be too biased. The angle the end was very interesting, all of the Strong division gunning for the champ, and Nomura the young gawd even got to say a few words :leon:

Daisuke is the next challenger :wow:

They've had two shows, both sold out :heh:
