Choshu left in early 2002 because Inokism was changing the company so much. Mutoh leaving in January was the final straw for Riki and he left to create the disaster that was World Japan.

So who was booking immediately after Choshu then? Because wtf at even the idea of that match. It's even weirder right in the midst of Inokism to have Khali vs bloated and washed up Candido during that period. Really, any period in NJPW history. Actually wait, that match is from late 2001, so it WAS Choshu.

I don't blame the booking of the match on Inokism, I have no clue who's idea was to pair up those two, I'm saying that Inoki's influence is what made Choshu leave in 02'. You gotta remember Choshu was also booking in 99'-00' when Inoki forced Ogawa to obliterate Hashimoto's star and drawing power because he was obsessed with Ogawa.

Chono was the booker after Choshu left but he had constant clashes with Inoki just like Choshu did.

Nah what I'm saying is that when Inokism was running wild, a match like fukking Khali vs Candido is even more bizarre than it would be normally, and it's a pretty weird match for NJ to have ever booked in any period.
