How is Daichi doing? Seems like ages since he debuted.
He's good, but not good enough to warrant a big push in Big Japan yet. He showed flashes of greatness when he debuted 6 years ago for Zero One (holy shyt it's been that long) and then he pretty much hit a wall for a long time due to working IGF for a couple of years. He then was smart/lucky to end up in Big Japan - that has arguably the best heavyweight dojo in Japan - and he has become a solid performer that can be elevated by better workers. He can only keep improving if he stays there.
Thing is, he's not at the level were he can have a MOTYC by his own or have a standout title reign yet. He's not a prodigy like Takeshyta, Okada or Miyahara. BUT, he has the tools to become a main eventer eventually. His size is an issue too, he's not small enough to be a Junior but he's not big enough to be a legit heavy, he's gonna be an underdog for most of his career unless he shows a mean streak further down the line.
He's young as fukk though. Breh is 25, an even though I expected him to make "the leap" performance wise already, he can still get there. It's not as sure a thing as I once thought though.
New Japan not booking him is retarded though. Not only does he have a huge name but he could do well enough and keep progressing as a worker by getting a couple of tours with them from time to time (basically do what they did with Ibushi). It still bothers me that Daichi was supposed to get a hero's welcome in WK 7 but an injury kept him from wrestling and he was never mentioned again
