The IWGP heavyweight and IC titles will be defended at the US G1
Brehs are gonna be exhausted by the end of the G1. It should be a ton of fun though.

The only thing working against that is it would be too soon if the plan really is Okada vs Naito at the Dome. If Gedo books a rematch that early, it would mean Kenny losses the belt way too soon or that we'd eventually get Omega vs Okada 4 TIMES for the belt in the same year
My guess is it will be Omega's token title defense before Okada takes it back off of him. Kind of like when Naito got one defense against Ishii and lost it the next month.Now THAT is big news

I can't help but feel that putting the belt on Kenny just for the LA shows would be a bit of shameless pandering to the Western audience so hopefully there's a swerve in there somewhere.

Although I think Omega should have a run because he's one of the 5 best wrestlers on the planet, does it REALLY matter if he's the champion during the LA shows or not? I'm sure Okada is over there too.
It really doesn't. But the timing of the rematch, Okada's reign length and the US tour make a title change very likely.
