Suzuki vs Okabayashi

Hideki Suzuki (c) vs. Yuji Okabayashi

I really like this current Suzuki run against the Strong Heavyweight division. He brings a different dynamic to the matches and he's confident enough to look like a legit invader/ace. In this one he just obliterates Yuji's arm to limit his offense and it works. Okabayashi does a really good at selling - only 1 spot was iffy and it can be attributed to "fighting spirit" - it was like watching a wild beast trying to defeat a more intelligent opponent. Yokohama is tame as usual but I wasn't expecting anything different, the fact that they showed life for the last minutes shows the good job Hideo and Yuji did

. The left plenty of room for a rematch so I hope we get to see it down the line. Now it's time for the young guns to step up to the plate, or at least that's what I hope, and that should be fun to watch.

Is this Shibata thing a work or not?

Not a work.

Any Sekimoto match worth the watch?

For the carnival or in general? I just got into AJPW and I'm still trying to understand the roster. There was one match involving Sekimoto where it was straight brutal. There was a picture of both of the dudes trying to clothesline each other while blood was in the air. I'm trying to find the match but no luck. Fellow Puro brehs...help me out plz:ld:

Takahashi/Ricochet was a disappointment. Expected next level flippy fukkery, but it never really came.

Takahashi is reckless as hell, though.
Hiromu's comments after the match were interesting. Kind of sounds like all the talk about his spots being too dangerous might have played a factor in him toning it down in that match:

Hiromu:
‘Ricochet isn't human, isn't human.. I've faced the best high fliers from all over the world but him.. is he an alien? If he is a human he was a cat in a past life. The way he moves, just like a cat. Ahh, he's too good, I don't want to have a match like that again for a while. Ricochet, though I respect you from the bottom of my heart. Match like that, I know what they'll say. “That was too dangerous”. That's the in thing lately, right? “Too dangerous, too dangerous”. Lots of matches lately making people say that. I’m not sure, but I thought we were wrestlers in New Japan Pro Wrestling. To get here, we've taken thousands, tens of thousands of bumps. So let me say something. We love Pro Wrestling. If you love pro wrestling nearly as much as we do, you'd sit back and enjoy it more. You get what I'm saying? Yell, shout, cry, be emotionally involved. Enjoy. Ah, I have to see EVIL’s match next. If Naito closes the show, shall I get in the ring? Or I'll just do it here. Nosotros! LOS! INGOBERNAAAAABLEEES! DE! JA! Meaow!’
