Can you see any Japanese company get as big as NJPW?

No. Unless Dragon Gate somehow gets huge financial backing and appeals to a broader type of fan, which from the outside seems unlikely (though maybe it could happen, I'm not an expert on DG @The Rainmaker could shed some more light into it).

DG has been on the same level for years. They have tried to get themselves outside Japan a couple times but it seems not everyone loves lightspeed-no-selling-spot sequences. They are a very niche product, and they seem happy at their best to fill Kobe Hall a couple times a year.

You can't see AJPW/NOAH getting back to the levels they once were or close to it?

I like NOAH shows but they feel like an eternal funeral for Misawa most of the times. Extremely quiet crowds while the wrestlers are chopping themselves to death.

I was taking AJPW for dead a couple years ago but now they have had some sort of resurgence. But reaching its previous level? Nah.

What companies do you watch other than WWE?

Breh, you gotta realize that promotions need more than just good wrestling/talent/shows for that kind of thing to happen. The hole All Japan and NOAH are in right now is too deep.

New Japan was in a financial crisis before the 07' revival, but they still had (japanese) people's perception on their side and they still had a big enough fanbase to build into. When Yukes bought NJPW, it still took them 2 years to start turning things around with Tanahashi - and they struck luck/gold with Mutoh's outsider run in 08' - and after that it took them 4 more years of consistently good decisions and luck (not saying luck is a bad thing btw, every successful wrestling company has had it) building around a young core of wrestlers and veterans that could still contribute.

Companies like AJPW and NOAH have none of that right now. Even with the young talent on their roster, they don't have the structure around them to start building something big. There's always the chance of a miracle happening, but that's pretty much the answer to your question.

PS: You also got to realize that NOAH was never even remotely close to what All Japan was. Although I understood your question, putting them in the same level when asking if they can get what they once were kinda makes no sense :ld:

These days I don't have a lot of time, but I keep with the results of most Japanese companies (NJ, AJPW, NOAH, DDT), watch the most recommended matches, and I try to watch every PWG and DG show I can get.

The lack of Strong BJ in your wrestling viewing makes me :mjcry:

West where the Sunsets
Flyers were handed out for the NJ shows in the LBC during the ROH 15. Pictured were Omega, Tanahashi, Okada and Naito.

So I'm assuming they'll be there if they put them on the flyer? I gotta see Naito brehs. :wow:

Yeah, unless someone gets injured the whole main roster should be wrestling both shows.

Hope they sell out and do really well. The future is now.
