MOTY 2016 on Axs Tv tonight and just as expected, Jim Ross combined with poor audio mixing really deflated all the energy from it

Good thing I rewatched the Japanese version last week so the piff was still fresh

It's about that time. The time of year where I get back into NJPW only to lapse because there's too much to watch

So I watched King of Pro Wrestling.

Excellent show. All the 6 and 8-man tags were okay, the tag title matches were decent but holy fukk those last three matches were dope af.

the NEVER openweight championship between KOR and Shibata was nasty. Also, had a very realistic finish. Goto and Omega was very good too.

Marafuji vs. Okada might have been the best match I've seen all year. It was brutal it was violent but the tension built throughout, it just kept building and building. The final 5minutes or so those sequences

We gonna need another match between 'em

Where did that match come from? Best Marufuji match since 2007. All of his offense used intelligently with none of the pitfalls of a usual Maru epic.

Was my man campaigning for a job? Was this a political move against Go being re-accepted as NOAH's ace?

Or was this the first time in his career Okada elevated someone elses level through layout and selling, thus pulling off his first proper ace feat?

I need answers, because this wasn't normal.

We'll only know how that happened (great match BTW, watched it this week) once we see Maru in another singles match again.
