I recently watched the whole 3 tape set that NJPW put out for the G1 that year, and the weirdest thing about Rude is that the crowds pop for his posing and his moves, but the second he touches Madusa, they get PISSED.

bruh that shyt got me, shyt practically deserves its own thread on here match itself was nuts. lol @ the NWA reportedly wanting nothing to do with Rude.
There had to be so hos in that crowd, Real talk having been to japan context is sometimes lost, but but i think their frustration with rude stems from madusas interference with Shinya (i think that was who) and her presence and distraction, whole shyt was weird, crazy but piff.

5 star match tho man, im legit shocked nobody ever talks about this, the NJPW lineup was nuts, arn and austin shaking hands while still in the dangerous alliance knowing damn well nobody in america was gonna see this. real talk i think because they represented WCW you dont hear shyt about it, the E really erased the fact that steve faced mutoh in that second round.

WWE doesn't own that footage, so there is little reason to talk about it if they can't show it. The only footage WWE owns of the WCW/NJPW stuff in Japan is what was shown on WCW television, which was not much, and is why anytime WWE talks about NJPW on the Network, they show the same few clips from Sting/Muta vs Steiners and Fujinami vs Flair. Because those aired on WCW tv in some form.
