So much puro piff right now between G1/DDT/DG/BJW:wow:

It's hard as fukk to keep up:damn:

July to August is puro's busiest couple of months. Then it slows down a little bit until New Year's season.

Unsurprisingly, Big Japan couldn't even get 4k into Sumo Hall. Here are the results.

AJPW: After Exodus

A collection looking at AJPW in the immediate aftermath of the NOAH exodus, leaving Kawada and Fuchi as the last men standing and looking to rebuild the company.

Toshiaki Kawada vs Masanobu Fuchi 7/1/00
Toshiaki Kawada/Genichiro Tenryu vs Stan Hansen/Maunnakea Mossman 7/23/00
Masahiro Chono vs Masanobu Fuchi 9/2/00
Toshiaki Kawada vs Keiji Mutoh 4/14/01
Arashi/Kendo Kashin/Nobutaka Araya/Satoshi Kojima vs Kazuhiko Ogasawara/Masato Tanaka/Ryouji Sai/Shinjiro Otani 2/23/03
Keiji Mutoh/Kaz Hayashi vs Satoshi Kojima/Jimmy Yang 3/22/03
Toshiaki Kawada vs Shinya Hashimoto Triple Crown Championship 2/22/04
Satoshi Kojima vs Giant Bernard Triple Crown Championship 10/18/05

Full matches at the link. The Revolution reunion tag and Chono/Fuchi are must sees. Kawada/Hashimoto is pretty good. Mutoh/Kawada didn't mesh at all. Kawada/Fuchi is like a snuff film. Zero-1 tag is very hateful and a lot of fun.

I had that Kawada/Hash match very high on my best of 04 Ditch list years back, remember thinking it was a classic with incredible selling and drama. Hash :to: Kawada has another run in him yet :obama:

I dunno, Hashimoto was always hit and miss in giant main events. Sometimes he would just get something weird in his head and the match wouldn't kick into the gear it needed to. And by the time Kawada/Hash happened, I think both were just outside of their primes. It was good, certainly much better than the Kawada/Mutoh match, but it just seems like something that would have been signifcantly better even 2 years earlier, imo.

I recall liking that both seemed to be on the downswing, like Hash was falling apart and I thought it added to the story. Bravery, the whole Japanese thing etc. That's just me adding a story probably. Haven't watched it in ages.

Hash was a little unfortunate that he didn't have the Misawa, Kawada levels during his run. He'd get Norton and Sasaki and Muto. He usually delivered from my perspective though, the Takada match was what it should've been, classic with Hase, fun stuff with Liger and bunch of very good matches. And of course the Ogawa thing which was pretty awesome. He had the whole Ace aura down too.

I really liked the whole ''wandering around kicking ass'' thing he did when the NJPW relationship soured. Poor Tanaka :damn:

Hashimoto's body falling apart was a part of the story, as he had been injured a few weeks prior at a Z1 show and that played heavily into the finish of the Kawada match.
