You think that'll happen over there I thought those lads would have Misawa ahead for sure. Been a while since I followed the forum though. I know dudes are always reevaluating. And I know more recent fans usually do have Kobashi ahead, maybe the NOAH thing.

I can't say I'm sure about the regular posters in PWO, as you said those dudes change their mind every 2-3 years about wrestlers so who knows. My last impression was that Misawa was ranked ahead by the majority of them, but with so many ballots, I can only guess Kobashi is gonna be ranked higher, he's a favorite for new viewers of All Japan and he has his NOAH run
I'm also really interested were Bryan is ranked. I thought I was a high vote putting him #15 but I've seen a bunch of people say they think he can actually be in the top 5, mostly because of him retiring and recency bias. And again, with so many people voting he might do reaaally well. And he didn't even rank in 06'

Which is nuts because '06 was the start of his three best years work wise. I cant believe no one put Gargano on. I wouldnt have either but i thought someone would have had him on
Hilarious that no one voted for Togi Makabe. Good, fukk him.
Really cool project, and good to see people looking at both a lot of lucha and a lot of the old school territory footage as well. It'll be interesting to see how everything shakes out.
Damn good match. Daichi still needs some work but considering this was his first big match on Big Japan he did damn well, and I fukking LOVED Kazuki being at his side at all times motivating him, that's a real friend Stiffest chops I've seen from Daisuke in years, motherfukker was laying them in It was a little too much back and forth for my taste as I think the veteran should've dominated more and longer but it was still pretty clear Daichi was the underdog. I really liked they didn't go overboard with the nearfalls at all, no one came out looking like superman and that's how it should've been, ending was got a legit "holy shyt!" from me. Can't wait for the rematch, pissed off Sekimoto is gonna be fun as hell to watch
Not sure if you watched how Takada gets the title. But he basically ends Mutoh's "ace reign" at the January 4th Tokyo Dome Show, it's kind of a big deal because New Japan has always been the "King of Sports" and this shoot style a$$hole beats the company's (at the time) main guy and gets the belt. Here's the match.
So after having their hero surpassed by this UWF(i) shoot style a$$hole, New Japan calls for the only motherfukker that can bring the belt back home and avenge New Japan's honor... it's one of the best 12 minute matches you'll ever see, from the entrances alone you just feel the importance of the match
Let me know if the link doesn't work. I'll upload it on vimeo or something. I'd love to know what you think about the match too.
