I hear you on that but i feel like Elgin/Ishii has a lot of potential if Elgin ups his game

I dunno breh, he couldn't even step his game up for Naito and Tanahashi

Hopefully he does well, but I was hoping they'd bring in Roderick Strong

I thought, being the 25th edition and with 19 fukking shows they were going to get bonkers, bringing the best guys from different companies and phasing out the old guys (Nagata, Tenzan almost 20 years competing in the tournament, holy shyt. Maybe it's their last hurrah). Oh, well.

Was expecting more Freelancers/Foreigners on this G1. NJ is starting to get stale booking wise, Someone has to turn Heel/Face have a character change or something. As good as they are how many times we gonna see the Tana/AJ/Okada/Naka combo.

Naito really needs to turn heel and join up with Bullet Club so we could get that No Limit reunion. It'll freshen things up :yeshrug:

I bet Elgin will get a win over our boy Honma at least :upsetfavre:

All that G1 on NJPW World :blessed: That value for 9.99 :wow:

Yujiro has his girl bringing it to the next level :whew:

Meltzer on the board

Anyone who sees a brighter future for New Japan than WWE, even though New Japan's shows are generally a lot better, is missing the obvious.

This is Jim Crockett Promotions in 1987 minus the badly booked finishes.

:lupe:

I agree that the G1 line up is a little underwhelming, was hoping to see Sekimoto brought in. I guess they don't want Suzuki jobbing while he has the GHC strap but still he's a big loss (no Styles rematch :upsetfavre:). Cole would've been a lot better than Elgin (not sure if he's injured or not). Doesn't really live up to the billing of the biggest/best ever but I'm sure there will be an awful lot of great matches anyway.

Especially since Takahashi serves no purpose in the equation right now.

Cole would have been cool but id rather it been Jay Lethal if you had to have an ROH guy. Then again the ROH guy is going to be jobbed out no matter who it is so i guess Elgin makes sense.

Roddy would have been great and fit like a glove but i wouldnt want to see him job so much in a tournament as ive been really into his stuff this year.

Need to get Styles vs Honma, Shibata or Nakamura. Against all three would be even better. Shibata/Ibushi too. And I don't really get tired of Shibata vs Ishii/Honma either.

Wonder if the changed up schedule will result in less injuries and wear and tear. Hope Tanahashi makes it through another tournament anyway. :patrice:
