Not impressed with Prince Devitt. Dude is a curiosity, but only because he's got that midcarder look. But as a champion?

I can't believe that he held the IWGP light heavyweight title.

It's possible that this is pre-AJ Styles because the Bullet Club doesn't impress me either. THey have a bunch of big guys and I thinmk they may have CJ Anderson...but that's it.

Seems like a generic bad guy stable.

In 2015, though, Styles grants them legitimacy.

AJ joined last year when he debuted in New Japan.

The IWGP Jr. Title isn't THAT big of a deal to get worked up about how is or has been a champ tbh.

Devitt was the undisputed Ace of that division for a solid couple of years though. I've never been a huge fan but I'm always entertained by his matches.

Finally finished the 2-11 show:whew:

Why does the crowd give Naito the :camby:? I don't know the history:pachaha:

The crowd gasping when Styles got Tanahashi in the styles clash:lupe:

That was a good sized gash Tanahashi got over his eye in the main event:scust:

Naito cut a promo a few years ago I think it was before the Dome title challenge in Osaka where he promised he should win and if he didn't Osaka (where the show was) should boo him forever. It was something like that. So yeah, whenever they're in Osaka he gets that insane heat :heh:

EDIT: He said it in 2012, so before the K-Hall challenge to Okada I think. He said next time they see him he'll be champion, and if he's not, they should boo him. And voila :heh:

It's hard to believe Jushin Liger is only 50

It's still pretty old to be wrestling but it seems like he's been around forever

Hogan is like 61 I think and he just recent;y got out of the ring tho so maybe he's still feeling pretty good

Lyger can still go but youll never see him above the third match of a card in NJPW again. I wonder if he will pass the Lyger mantle onto someone else though :patrice:

Who do you think will replace Tanahashi as box office draw once Tanahashi retires in a few years?

Did he say somewhere that he's going to retire soon? Kojima, Tenzan and Nagata are still working in their mid-40s so I don't expect him to retire either. I think he'll just slowly move down the card. Okada is definitely that next #1 guy though, they're already building up his redemption story/passing of the torch moment for next year's Wrestle Kingdom 10.
