nah, but she is one of the greatest. i don't really listen to female singers, but i do respect women like janet, whitney, mariah and mary. honestly, even though she's not as popular as the ones i mentioned, but i think chaka khan can definitely be in the mix as her influence is prevalent in the singers i mentioned. beyonce will never touch these women... belee dat

Mariah Carey is, I think, the greatest-selling female artist of all-time.

Technically, doesn't Aretha Franklin fall in the R&B category? I think Diana Ross does too.

In any case, I don't think Janet Jackson is even in the top 10 female R&B voices of all-time, so you're probably basing your opinion on Janet's performances...which...really is just a fancy package on a rather ordinary product.

Weirdo video but :banderas:

man people don't understand hte vibe of this song, or how to utilize it right.

Dude, most people I know don't even put this song as one of their faves of hers. It's absolutely my favorite. Part of that because my mom used to loop the hell out of it, but it seemed like one of the most honest tracks, and had that late 90's R&B vibe down. Her more up-tempo catalog doesn't really compare.

Thought I was the only one. Probably my favorite JJ song. Dat mid-tempo with da bassline:wow:

Now I will say that Janet Jackson has one of the greatest albums and songs of all time:

"Love Will Never Do" on Rhythm Nation will always be top 5 imo. :salute:

From a musical standpoint, I prefer Coko of SWV. Janet Jackson is probably the best overall package (dancing, etc.) in rnb.
