The core of Charles Manson's philosophy was a racial Armageddon. He preached that the black man would rise up and start killing members of the white establishment and turn the cities into an inferno of racial revenge. The blacks would win this war, but would not be able to hang onto the power he seized because of innate inferiority.

What was Helter Skelter?

Manson believed the tensions between blacks and whites in the counter-cultural boiling pot of the 1960s would erupt into a cataclysmic race war that would end in the slaughter of nearly all white people. He called this doomsday scenario “Helter Skelter.”

In the scenario, the tensions between the races would lead to violent murders of whites by blacks, which would be met in return with murders of blacks by whites, and so on, until a full scale war erupted. At the same time, in Manson’s theory, white people would turn against their neighbors, leading the white race to fight both itself and the blacks at the same time until it was annihilated and blacks emerged victorious, according to the University of Virginia.

All most of them know about Manson was that he was a crazy guy who led one of the few examples of a cult of personality strong enough to invoke a level of fear... back when cults of personality weren't whole political identities with news stations devoted specifically to them.
Not saying it isn't idiotic, but it's just the direction that generation of girls go to try and seem edgier than all the other girls wearing Nirvana shirts who don't know Nirvana songs or who Dave Grohl is .
