the recounting of the events i hear about from the media was this..

he was sitting in the theatre...gets a call.. runs out thru an emergency exit..cple of minutes later he comes back throws a cple of gas bombs and starts shooting up the place...

I don't think nobody really called him...

I think he used that as a excuse to get up and walk out the emergency door without drawing attention. Most people wouldn't think twice if it looked like somebody got a important call and stepped outside to take it.
