I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the surrounding context of this trade. Philly are the ones that needed to give up pieces of worth to get Harden - not the other way around.

No i absolutely get that, but the nets were under pressure as well? You don't think so? Philly knew Ben wasn't going to play and could have waited to the summer and signed harden outright and moved Ben elsewhere.

Harden was going to sabotage the nets season and this would have been another failure for the big 3 in Brooklyn.

Maybe not.

But he'll magically make the Nets' defense significantly better, and create looks for the team that they weren't getting before, resulting in BK being a better team.

as a sixers fan I just renewed my NBA subscription to watch their games...i love this trade. We got rid of Ben...we kept Thybulle and Maxey, and we got Harden

Im not crazy about the draft picks but hey....they weren't going to be in the running for any top lottery picks anyway...and I'm not crazy about Drummond leaving....but it is worth it imo....once Harden is back to himself, I think we're top 3 in the east easy
