malik and jamal were both on a track on one of too short's mid 90s albums...i think that one was their last collab joint as Illegal

Malik was nice..ive been looking for any already made compilation of joints he made post Illegal for a min

if im not mistaken malik had the bigger hit between the 2 with being on like this and like that with monica

Yeah, they were on "Things Change" (one of Short's best 'conscious' tracks, imo)...

That's when you knew MCs was rippin' it -when they used to cut the track off when they were still rappin'. lol

But Malik was killin' chit - between "Pump Pump", "What's Next", "One More Shot", and (as you said) "Like This And Like That"...
I thought he was gonna have a Li'l Wayne-type career. Oh well.

Last I heard, he was with hangin' wit' Dr. Dre...and he says he's got hella tracks in THE VAULT he's on.
I'm 'bout sick of Dre and this vault.

I disagree. I think he simply put out a standard East Coast hip-hop album (what was at the time). There's nothing wrong with that, it just didn't stand out amongst the crowd.

You can disagree all u want...still doesnt take away from it being u and OPs "opinion"

U said it yourself....the Jamal album didnt stand out.....But OP is arguing that Jamal is better then K Dot and Drake when they both had albums that stood out during their time unlike Jamal.
If Jamal is the "better" rapper as OP said he would have stood out like Drake and Kendrick.

You said he didn't make a full album of listening to like Kendrick and Drake, and only good for singles here and there. I am disagreeing that is an album not worth listening to. He put out a standard good East Coast album of the time. No pop singles, just spittin over beats. It's apples vs bananas. It's not saying it's a bad album, just overlooked.

Kendrick & Drake are all that y'all have...maybe with Cole, that's why their albums stand out today to y'all. Mally G is an MC of 90's prowess. Vicious, aggressive, bars over beats...and if that had a lane in today's climate, he'd definitely be up there. Drake has albums of 1/2 singing and Kendrick tries every style and flow, beat...often working, sometimes not. OP didn't even name Kendrick or Drake.

jamal was a far better rapper and mc than them nikkas; especially thug and french montana's wack asses

he should've had a bigger spot in the game but then again, there was actual competition back then and you had so many great mcs but if jamal was the same up and comin' mc he was in 95' in 2016

thing is, he wouldn't be competing against those bums.

he would be competing against philly rappers, and the talent is still there in 2016. even worse, the casual rap audience would have no clue who he is. as opposed to back in the day when his group had a #1 hit.

yea, I know he didn't necessarily get on as a philly guy, but im saying.

Yo, look who just jumped up on the scene
Pocket full of green, butter in leather and all
I be's that nikka named Jamal
Mackin' hoes in the tight clothes with pretty toes
Kickin' flows for all the rowdy bros and it goes, look
1, 2, to the breaker 1-9-9-5
Jamal representin', keep it live
It don't matter how I come on these funk raw tracks with raps
We bout to still make snaps
We got bytches for days, rich as it pays
Damn shyts changed since back in the days, get money
In my mouth is where the blunt stays blazed
And I get dazed to kick a phrase to amaze
I'm gettin' busier, leavin' hoes dizzier
Than they even been with the grown men
Is he a straight looney type of nikka
That'll drop the temperature?
bytch, I ain't really into ya
