But Jamal was only good for a single here and there.....Jamal never made a full album worth listening to like Kendrick or Drake and thsi is coming from someone who stands by Illegal being the best kids group of the 90's.

OP should have put "IMO" in teh beginning of his post.

I disagree. I think he simply put out a standard East Coast hip-hop album (what was at the time). There's nothing wrong with that, it just didn't stand out amongst the crowd.

I got some listening to do. I like his music enough to dub it on cassette and vhs but I never got around to buying it. I think I will soon though.

They were just too many good rappers back then in the mainstream.

yeah dude guested on a good amount of albums back then

Yeah...the Junior Mafia album, MC Breed album (his best one imo), the Red albums, Blackout!...

Def Squad stayed comin' through with Mal verses, but it's a damn shame they didn't wanna do another Illegal album.
I still think Malik > Jamal...that Malik album is sittin' in a vault somewhere and I would play top dollar for it...

malik and jamal were both on a track on one of too short's mid 90s albums...i think that one was their last collab joint as Illegal

Malik was nice..ive been looking for any already made compilation of joints he made post Illegal for a min

if im not mistaken malik had the bigger hit between the 2 with being on like this and like that with monica

LOVED 'Last Chance, No Breaks'. Every time someone starts one of them "Underrated Albums" threads, I make sure that album is brought up. You can play it front to back, then turn around and spin it again. It's a shame we never really got anything else out of him.
