Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Btw when Tory Lanes raps he sounds like a he could be a New Yorker I recall back on clubhouse this group speaking on him from the west coast thought he was a NY dude and didn’t know he was Canadian.

It's this goofy mix of Jamaican and Canadian/hoser. It's always seemed like a put on accent to me. I heard it growing up in Toronto and still hear it today from guys (Black, white, South Asian) I know don't really talk like that.:martin:

It's weird how Caribbean + London accent doesn't sound half as bad as Toronto.

Do brehs from other Canadian sound the same as Toronto brehs?

That's not our accent though. Who do you know that talks like this? Be serious.
LOL

It’s not an everyday thing. But depending on who you’re around and what’s being talked about it comes out of my friends, brothers and shyt

It is really just about enunciating and over stressing the vowels in words at times…

Bucks be Balling is the most extreme version of it but that drake war song also a great example

this is exactly what I was talking about the over exaggerated b*stardized version of toronto slang

never go full retard. And yes it sounds like identity crisis. I usually defend the city slang and accent but not when it gets to this level of ridiculous.
I feel like I heard 3 different accents.
Toronto Irish/Jamaican, there's something else I can't put finger on

So what’s a real black Toronto accent then?

I have family in Montreal and they sound like English people with a french accent when they speak English. Well to me at least.

Also Montreal thugs don’t be looking as silly as some of the Toronto stuff I’ve seen posted on this thread

A Canada breh could rob me at gun point with two Aks and a bomb strapped to his chest but as soon as I hear that leprechaun Jamaican accent asking me to give it up, I swear on my soul, I’ll bust out laughing and just walk off.
