Seen a random music trivia thing on Twitter and it was revealed that the group she is in No Doubt ORIGINALLY was started by a black dude. As story goes this guy was supposed to be the front man but he dealt with alot of mental issues and eventually succumb to it. I'll have to see if I can find his name. Alot of people in the comments were questioning why she or the other never pay homage to breh.

This "cultural appropriation" wave regarding hair is the dumbest shyt I've seen in the black community :beli:

Facts.

And those who do it don’t even appreciate their own hair. Most of them want every other hair but their own.

It’s just as counterintuitive as black people who cry cultural appropriation about white people who wear clothes that are culturally black whilst breaking their necks to buy European brands.

People need to start calling these idiots out. There are legitimate cases where cultural appropriation apply & an outcry would be justified. But in idiotic cases like hair - it just makes black people look like cry babies.

Y’all gotta check some of these random twitter facts.:snoop:

A quick search will tell you John Spence committed suicide and the band broke up but eventually got back together. Not only that, it was Gwen’s brother and Spence who came up with the idea for the band.

I saw one the other day about Full Force writing some Backstreet Boys songs. While true, they didn’t write “I Want it That Way”.

Nah, this ain't it. Cacs get praised for rocking styles like this while Black folk get reprimanded at work or insulted with the nappy card. Big ass double standard that cacs benefit from

Above the fray.
I tell you what, the backlash to whites adopting Black styles is usually because of mainstream writers, not the actual white celeb.

Many writers, who know better, trip over themselves to credit the white celeb for "creating" or popularizing styles that were created decades ago and had gone through several cycles of popularity.

Madonna "inventing" voguing when Black and Puerto Rican non-Harlemites had been doing elements of it for years, for example.

Writers know/think that their readers can only appreciate something if a white face/origin story is attached to it.

I take it that some Black people read the same mainstream media outlets, get indignant reading these stories and direct that anger towards the celeb.
