Breh, if you don’t believe that poverty and criminality aren’t in anyway linked then… :mjlol: :francis:

In what country do the poor people not resort to crime? Like… you think only black countries have gangs/mafias?

You will have crime in wealthy countries too. There's another ingredient or two that turn these countries crime ridden.

The ingredient missing is, centralized organization. A strong, well-organized government that deters and properly punishes crime. Also at issue is the culture of materialism. This is why some poor countries do not have the violence we see in Jamaica and some central American countries. In parts of Africa where the materialistic culture hasn't set in, it's basically "yeah we're poor, but we're not missing anything we never had".

I’m disgusted by this whole situation.

Plus the fact nobody bar one person came to help the little girl…Because instead recorded her in the aftermath naked?

And then proceeded to share around a photo/video of a bloody 14 year old CHILD on social media and messaging platforms.

Until drugs are legalized in developed countries (Can/US/Western Europe) the crime and violence won't stop in developing countries.

That's not what anyone said :comeon:

And no being poor isn't an excuse butchering a 70 year old women for chump change while they try to come back home and live the twilight of their years isn't about poverty as much as it is jealously of someone's else perceived success or wealth. That's a crab mentality that is pervasive amongst not only Jamaica but Black people everywhere which is a main reason why we're never gonna to get ahead. Take it how you want to take it but that's what it is.:manny:

Eygpt is just a poor if not more then Jamaica whats their homicide rate look like compared to Jamaica?

I hear you am Antiguan / Kittitian I've been all over the Caribbean. I've also been to some poor African countries like Zimbabwe, sure there's crime, some violent but for whatever reason they don't seem so quick to kill each other for the reasons we do.

I saw Holness express some boldness by saying there was a need to start referring to these Ganga as terrorists. Eyes bugged outta my head when I heard it. Maybe there's something to it. Hope the administration keeps the momentum up. I know I like Politricks take on it.

Crime, yes. But not this level of violence. This is something else.

Came the from the politically sponsored violence after independence.

Andrew Holness | A global war on gangs is imperative

Armed violence, driven by organised crime, has long been a crisis in Jamaica, but has been spreading across the wider Caribbean in recent years. For decades, we have suffered one of the highest murder rates in the world, with over 80 per cent of homicides committed using firearms smuggled into the country.
According to the CARICOM Implementing Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS), armed violence in our Caribbean neighbours is rapidly approaching that level. The common denominator is clear: organised gangs, their transnational networks, and the weapons they illegally bring traffic. These threats transcend national borders. Similarly, or response must be transnational.
It is time to launch a global war on gangs – a coordinated, international effort to dismantle the vast criminal networks fuelling instability across regions. From the cartels of Mexico to the gangs of Haiti, from the Ecuadorian drug syndicates to the extortionists here in Spanish Town, armed groups are increasingly resembling paramilitary organisations, threatening not just citizen security but state sovereignty

The thing is tough on crime never works even in El Salvador the numbers are cooked and MS13 still exists. The real answer is true indepandance.
How do you know the #s are cooked? Dude literally locked up pretty much everybody that was tatted lol

Independence from what? They're their own sovereign state...unless you talking about complete nationalism, because technically no state is truly independent from another.
