Jalen Rose calls the media lazy for focusing on the Cowboys, even though they're eliminated

Jalen is right. With Houston, 49ers, and Green Bay still in The playoffs, there's little reason to give Cowboys much coverage. The casual Cowboys fans have already checked out, so they are only talking to a small active fanbase, which is much smaller than the active fanbases of the 3 teams still in the playoffs. Way more Buffalo fans are tuning into ESPN than Cowboys fans right now. Traditionally, national media would reward local sports writers of playoff teams with air time. Now a handful of highly paid talking heads have to shoulder conversation of multiple teams across multiple leagues. Most of those guys, like SAS, just aren't up to the job and thus stick to a handful of franchises.

Sports shows are produced by ratings. They have stats that show what spikes and what doesn’t. If the Cowboys didn’t move the needle they wouldn’t talk about them.

Cowboys, LeBron, Lakers, etc. these shows likely have analytics that show these topics spike viewership/engagement. Now whether that translates to increased revenue who knows. You can talk about baseball and no one will care or you can talk about the Cowboys and fans, haters, and people like Jalen will all engage.

Every single progesionall sports team has like 15 sites not affiliated with fox or ESPN. You subscribe to a different podcast for every professional sports team and curate a more informative product than you get from ESPN or fox sports so I don't get the point in making this complaint. If ratings dropped whenever cowboys were mentioned they'd stop talking about the Cowboys.

I find it fukked up and grimy that they're now trying to speak McCarthy or Sirianni getting fired into existence and replaced by Beli. When the tables turn on them though and they're the ones getting fired and laid off, they're asking for sympathy and people to be nice when the hypocrisy is called out.
