hes not a bum, might not live up to the initial billing out of HS but he can clearly play, at least offensively

if they can ever field a decent starting 5 breh could breathe out there, when Noel is there with him hes the only scoring option

He gets what he deserves. Passed up being the #1 pick, hoped he'd go to LA, wound up in Philly.

basketball gods are hilarious sometimes

That's why you need to let them do their thing instead of trying fukk with it. Don't think I don't see you getting your Marie Laveau on during Minny's third quarters.

My Pops Forever RIP
Garbage ass thread. Dude is now in an awful situation and coming off a knee surgery. Guys on here want to praise Hinkie for tanking, but it doesn't matter if you keep picking guys who play the same position.

Once Philly mercifully trades Okafor, he'll start to thrive again, especially if there's some NBA caliber guards on the new team.

But BPA and stuff.

The Lakers were an awful situation. Him and his pops didn't give a fukk about that though. That's why I'm not overly sympathetic.

I'm not gonna call him a bum, but several of y'all were derisively calling him Big Al 2.0. There's a place for players like Jah, but those players don't become guys you build around.

Hinkie wanted Wiggins/Parker, not Embiid.
Hinkie wanted D'Angelo, not Okafor.

He just got unlucky with draft, not really his fault. Embiid worked out great and I'm sure he planned to trade Okafor out, but just got canned before that.

Everywhere...You never there.
Inner thoughts...

Homie on the left: "Can't believe I made it to the league.. I really made it!"

Bruh on the right: "This shyt right here gon look real good on me"

Okafor in the middle: "Ya'll got me all fukked up..."

Embiid was the #1 player going into that draft until the foot issues came up. That was always the right pick.

Porzingis should have been the pick once LA took Russell. You don't draft a guy on the premise of trading him a year later.

Hinkie never hit on any mid-late picks either. Mitch gets shyt on by Lakers fans, but he found Clarkson and Nance later in the draft, plus Zubac looks promising as well. Hinkie never found anyone and Philly has had a ton of mid-late picks the past few years. The closest was K.J. McDaniels and he traded him away half way through his first season.

Yes, but Embiid was also hurt and that's why Hinkie(like the bucks/wolves) wouldn't have taken him otherwise.

Porzingis refused to work out for them. I'm sorry, but it's way too risky to draft someone that's a euro and refuses to work out for you. People get mad enough when teams draft euros that bust, but if it was one that never worked out for them then Hinkie would have never heard the end of it.

The other options were Mudiay(which probably reminded Hinkie far too much of MCW, which is fair) and Mario, who is a project. Hinkie just went with BPA as the others weren't nearly as enticing.

Hinkie never hit on any mid-late picks either. Mitch gets shyt on by Lakers fans, but he found Clarkson and Nance later in the draft, plus Zubac looks promising as well. This is fair. I thought it was stupid as fukk of them to draft like 5 centers after Okafor too in 2015. Just a bunch of wasted picks. It's why hording 2nd round picks, in my opinion, is stupid as you'll never have enough room for them.

The Embiid shyt has his head fukked up i think. The FANBASE clearly embraces Embiid and never really gave a fukk about Okafor, that has to hurt to see. He's on a minute restricton but so is Embiid but Embiid gets critical minutes in close games while Okafor is on the bench. The writing is on the wall for Okafor. Embiid came thru and smashed the buildings, it's so obvious that Embiid is WAY better when you watch a game where they split minutes. shyt ain't even comparable really. Maybe he needs to get healthy so he can go back to being Al Jefferson 2.0 at least. Right now shyt is looking :scust:

He'll be fine, he's been very active and aggressive in the games I've seen him play. If anything, somebody will get a steal when they trade for him.

Let's keep it real...most people thought Po was gonna be a bum.

I dont deny that. I remember knicks fans being pissed and i went to their thread either here or another site and said relax that kid is gonna be good. Carmelo was pissed about the pick and i was saying he needs to stfu cause id rather build around porzingis than him.
So yeah most didnt think he'd be good. Im no proffesional scout but im perplexed how little they can see when they have the players right infront of them. My criticism is more front offices than fans. They had no excuse.
I was laughing when Phil made the pick cause i knew dude knew all along he got the steal. Same with embiid who teams i knew then hinkie might know what he was doing and was convinced he'd take porzingis. Oh well.
Another one that perplexed me was how Drummond went 10th.. And cousins 5th. Those were years i scouted cause wizards had picks.
