Jaden Smith can't pay Static Shock. Static Shock is a dark skin nikka with dreads. This is like Halle Berry playing Storm. That was a TRAVESTY. They couldn't or wouldn't find a dark skin girl to play Storm?

I know right. Exactly my point. They're all for Michael B Jordan being Johnny Storm (blonde hair-blue eyes white guy), but Jaden is too light skin even though he's actually black entirely? At least he has dreads/braids/locks...;or does he still? He's tolerable as an actor and is still a teenager...and most importantly, a big name...or a recognizable name

What's funny is that he was a better actor when he was younger. And I guarantee there are young black actors a LOT more talented than him. They aren't even a chance to prove themselves tho

After Earth was not that bed, not to mention the way he acted was suppose to be that way. Will acted similarly - with the weird accent and almost emotionless facade. But we'll see with this - plently of actors got several chances even after poor movies, so why are we burying a guy who is still in his teens?

That's my concern. Jaden seem far too low key and easy going. Static was more up beat.

Lol at people having a problem with him playing him because he's "biracial" though. If Will and Jada don't count as having black parents, most of us in this country ain't black.

I really dont want to hate on Jaden but I dont want to see him playing static please get a real actor.

Jayden gonna go in tho...he's gotta prove himself past karate kid, he only has to take roles he wants or suits him(daddy loaded), and u can bet Will will be around to push the best out the kid...it's probably one of the stronger moves of the movie

And Jaden can't act?? He isn't better then 90% of the other teenage actors in Hollyweird? His skills are median, because MOST of hollyweird can't act that good. Jaden is OK. He's no better then Andrew Garfield and he gets accolades. With a big budget and a respectable director, this movie will be fine.

it's about star power and whether you want to admit it or not, Static Shock isn't a draw. It's just not.

You need someone like Jaden to get this shyt established because he will get people to watch the movie, period. It's a business and this is a sound business decision. The property was sitting on the shelf until it got an A list black teen to star in it.
